OUR BEEF
We sell primarily longhorn beef and longhorn-crossed beef
- Steers are grass and forage-fed year round and follow USDA guidelines of SELECT beef. We raise and finish to AGE, not WEIGHT. Meaning we don't force feed them until they can't walk anymore. We prefer to butcher between 20-24 months of age to provide leaner cuts of meat.
- The cattle spend the winters on the farm eating home grown grass mixtures and alfalfa. Then, they move to our family property located north of Kolob Reservoir (Southern Utah) in May, where they spend most of spring and summer grazing on mountain pasture and getting fat!
- Once of age (20-24 months old), the steers are moved to a private pen where they are fed a mixture of barley, oats, and molasses twice a day for 30-45 days to ensure healthy weight gain and a perfect flavored finish.
